The hosting of the Beach Handball Women's and Men's European Championships and the Beach Handball U17 Girls' and Men's European Championships was given to Alanya upon the application of the Turkish Handball Federation. Alanya, which started its handball organization adventure in 1995 with Street Handball, will once again be the scene of a great handball festival after 30 years.
With the decision taken by the Executive Board of the European Handball Federation (EHF) on July 19; it was decided that the women's and men's EHF Beach Handball EURO 2025 will be held in Alanya on July 8-13, 2025, and the EHF U17 Beach Handball EURO 2025 will be held in Alanya on July 3-6, 2025. In the championships, which will be the largest and most comprehensive organization ever held in Turkey, a total of 64 teams from 19 European countries that have earned the right to participate and more than a thousand handball players will compete for a chance at medals in Alanya for two weeks.
Great Festival in the Thirteenth Year
Alanya, which started its handball adventure with Street Handball in 1995 under the leadership of National Handball Team Player and Coach Ramazan Demirci, will host a major organization 30 years later. The event, which was organized with great contributions from the first year by the Mayoral Advisor Abdurrahman Açıkalın and Deputy Mayor Murat Levent Koçak and continued with dedication over the years, has been crowned with the European Championship today. Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik stated that handball is a sport where both athletes display their physical abilities and spectators have a pleasant time, and said, “We believe in the unifying power of sports and as a municipality, we continue our efforts to support and popularize every branch of sports. We are happy to host another very important organization. Increasing sports activities such as handball, which encourage our youth to do sports and direct them to a healthy and active lifestyle, is among our primary goals.”
Kılıç: We Want to Show Türkiye's Potential
Turkish Handball Federation President Uğur Kılıç, who stated that they are very happy that Alanya will host the highest level beach handball organization in Europe, said, “Last year, we organized the EHF EBT finals, which is the biggest team-based beach handball organization of the European Handball Federation (EHF), in Antalya. We also organized the EHF European U17 Beach Handball Championship in Izmir. We received very positive feedback. We stated that Türkiye has significant potential in beach handball and that we will organize different organizations as a country that has achieved significant success in beach handball and that we will show this to the international handball world. We are getting the results of our projects and works.

First, we brought the hosting of EHF Women's EURO 26 in the hall to Antalya. Now, we brought EURO 25 on the beach to Alanya. We aim to be one of the countries that have a say in beach handball. We need to use the beauties and advantages of our country. Beach handball is one of these advantages. Teams That Will Participate in EHF Beach Handball Euro 2025
The host country for the EHF Beach Handball EURO 2025 Women's Championship is Turkey, and the European teams that qualified from the 2024 World Championship are Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Greece and Denmark; the teams that qualified from the 2024 Beach Handball Championship are Hungary, France, Sweden, Ukraine, Croatia, Slovakia, Poland and Bulgaria. The host country for the Men's Championship is Turkey, and the European teams that qualified from the 2024 World Championship are Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Portugal, Spain and Croatia; and the teams that qualified from the 2024 European Championship are Poland, Sweden, France, Norway, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Italy, Czechia and Malta.
