Yeni Alanyalılar Celebrated the 15th Anniversary of the Foundation



The Alanya Municipality Foreigners Committee (New Alanyians) celebrated the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Committee. The celebrations and cocktail party took place at the Culture Centre.

The Mayor of Alanya, Adem Murat Yücel, who participated in the programme said: ‘In our city, which hosts people of every language, every religion and every nation, local and international residents live in harmony. The Foreigners Committee is the best example of the cultural coexistence.’
Among the participants there were: the Mayor of Alanya, Adem Murat Yücel, the Consul of Germany Wolfgang Wessel, representatives of foreign embassies and non-governmental organizations, council members, honorary consuls, chairmen of international associations, local and international residents of Alanya.

The celebrations started with the recital of the Ukrainian artist – Elena Skolova, continued with the slide show and opening speech of the Chairman of the Foreigners Committee – Abdullah Karaoğlu.
 
IN ALL THE SPEECHES, MESSAGES OF HARMONY AND FRIENDSHIP WERE GIVEN

The Chairman of the Foreigners Committee, Abdullah Karaoğlu, spoke about the beginnings of the organization and presented its development within last 15 years. In his speech he said: ‘Our Committe, which is the first and only in Turkey, has set an example to the whole world through its work. Various cultures and the harmony of these cultures have survived from the ancient times of Alanya to the present day and continue to have the same effect today. We can set up the Noel Bazaar, we can break fast together, organize art exhibitions and take part in various activities. I would like to thank our mayor, Adem Murat Yücel and his team for their support.
 
 
After that, the spokespeople of the Foreigners Committee gave a joint speech – for German Ursula Greune, for English Anna Bielecka, for Russian Luiza Gigitaşvili and for Turkish Özlem Gök. In their statements, the spokeswomen reminded that Alanya, where thousands of foreigners live regardless of which language or language, is a city of harmony that will set an example to the world. The spokespeople thanked the Mayor, Adem Murat Yücel, and other local authorities for this harmony. They expressed their gratitude towards the Committee Chairman - Abdullah Karaoğlu, Nimet Bolat, Kerim Kocabaşoğlu and everyone has who contributed within these 15 years.

 
“EVERY NEW ALANYIAN IS AN AMBASSADOR OF HIS OWN COUNTRY”

Paulina Muftuoglu, the President of the Tourism Commission of Alanya Municipality and member of the Foreigners Committee said that the Foreigners Committee and the resident foreigners have been contributing greatly to the promotion of Alanya. Müftüoğlu said that Alanya was not only sand, sea and sun. The city has its history, culture, cuisine, international organizations and variety of activities. Each of these is a promotional ambassador.

The Mayor of Alanya, Adem Murat Yücel, emphasized that the Foreigners Committee has been working devotedly to make life of our international residents easier and to solve any kind of problems they face. He said: “In our city, which hosts people of every language, every religion and every nation, local and international residents live in harmony. The Foreigners Committee is the best example of this friendship, tolerance and cultural coexistence. ”
“WE AIM TO MAINTAIN THE TOLERANCE HERITAGE OF THE TURKISH-ISLAMIC CIVILIZATION”

At the end of his speech the Mayor said: We aim to maintain the tolerance heritage of the Turkish-Islamic civilization inherited from our ancestors. In this context, we will continue our work by strengthening the Foreigners Committee and providing our international friends from Alanya with more opportunities to speak for themselves. The Foreigners Committee will continue to be the voice of the citizens of various nations living in Alanya.”

After the official program in the hall, all the participants went to the foyer area where the celebrations continued.
