Handicapped for Alanya

With the ‘ALANYA FOR EVERYONE’ project initiated by the Alanya Municipality in 2003, taking the necessary measures to facilitate the lives of individuals who have lost their mobility such as disabled, elderly, weak, children, sick and pregnant women, identifying the deficiencies, projecting the identified deficiencies correctly. It is aimed to increase their accessibility and facilitate their daily lives, and to increase the awareness of disabled citizens about their knowledge and skills, to contribute to their personal development and to ensure that they take part in all areas of life unhindered, and to achieve advanced living standards.

Accessible Park and Life Center
As a part of the ‘Alanya for Everyone’ project, the ‘Accessible Park and Life Center’, which was put into service in 2012, has an administrative office, game activity room, library and computer room, rest room, kitchen, toilets for men and women, information desk and information desk on the ground floor. There is a resting terrace, on the first floor there is a psychologist room, a physiotherapist room, a meeting room and toilets for men and women for the disabled. In addition to arranging all architectural elements (ramp, visually impaired warning and tracking surfaces, disabled elevator, toilets, etc.) in accordance with all disability groups, functional elements used in interior equipment (sighted computer, visually impaired printer, disabled game group, visually impaired chess set) ) has been arranged in accordance with all disability groups.

In addition, the hardware developed at the METU – KOSGEB Technology Center for disabled people who cannot use computers or have difficulties in using computers due to their physical disabilities, was put into service for the first time in Turkey by Alanya Municipality in a public area in the Barrier-Free Park and Life Center.

Thanks to the hardware and software called MİMİK, the system, which enables physically disabled citizens to use computers with eyebrow raising, blinking, lip or head movements, has been put into service in the computer and library room of the center.

Spatially, it will offer its guests the opportunity to play, workshop, sports and rest in the open air in Alanya, where the weather conditions are suitable during most of the year, with its large terrace space and garden connected to the library, game activity room and recreation room. With the disabled playground and the disabled swing, an environment has been created in the garden where the children can have a good time.

This center is a place where all disability groups can easily meet during the day and spend their free time, can host conferences held by all official institutions or non-governmental organizations on the subject, and where disabled people can develop themselves by revealing their knowledge and skills through workshops to be held. serves as In addition, with the services to be provided at the Accessible Park and Life Center, which provides services with psychologists, physiotherapists, child development specialists, sign language interpreters, project specialists, and advisors, it is offered to the public as a place where they can also find solutions to the special problems of disabled people and their families and receive counseling services.
